The overall responsibility of the HVACR Service Technician is to repair, maintain, replace and retrofit all manner of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment for the benefit of our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Expertise in diagnosis and repair of systems including (but not limited to): Rooftop Units, gas heating systems, split systems, walk-in coolers/freezer, ice machines, heat pumps, variable refrigerant flow systems, mini split systems, exhaust fans, energy recovery ventilators, makeup air units, chillers, boilers, hydronic pumps, and more.
Come to work with your own hand tools and instruments of the trade
Expertise in electrical wiring diagrams and control troubleshooting
Ability to go “on call” for a week at a time on rotating basis for after-hours coverage
Excellent communication skills & customer relations – includes use of iPhone/iPad.
Act as “lead technician” on replacement jobs and supervise helpers
Safety on the road and on the jobsite at all times
Experience with DDC is a plus
Other duties as assigned
Supervisor Responsibilities: From time to time supervise the work of a helper.
Work Environment: This position requires the employee to work both inside and outside. The employee may be subject to loud noises and hot and cold temperatures while on work site. May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. Will climb ladders and stairs every day.
Positions Type and Expected hours of Work:
Work day is based on 8-hour day between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime will be available and work during nights and weekends will be required. Must be available for work during On Call hours (Rotating).
Travel: Travel up to 50-mile radius from Providence will be required every day.
Required Education and Experience:
Journeyman Refrigeration license in RI and/or MA
EPA universal refrigerant use certification
Valid driver’s license
Experience in Commercial and Industrial environments
Lifting under and over 40 lbs.
Stooping, walking, Standing, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing
Clarity of vision at both over 20 feet and under 20 inches
Able to judge depth, have a good field of vision, and identify and distinguish colors
Precision Type work
Navigate uneven terrain
Reading, typing and computer input
