HELP WANTED APPRENTICESHIP INSTRUCTOR;
Looking for a candidate to teach the next generation of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning techs. The apprenticeship class runs September through May and is held Monday and Wednesday nights 6 – 9 pm. Class takes place in our Pawtucket, RI facility with hands on training encouraged. The curriculum used is the Contren Learning Series by NCCER. Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years licensed in the trade.
Class covers per year but not limited to:
INTRODUCTORY CRAFT SKILLS: total hours 78
Basic Safety (12 hours); Introduction to Construction Math (15 hours); Introduction to Hand Tools (6 hours); Introduction to Power Tools (6 hours); Introduction to Construction Drawings (12 hours); Introduction to Basic Rigging (9 hours); Basic Communication Skills (6 hours); Basic Employability Skills (6 hours); Introduction to Materials Handling (6 hours).
HVAC LEVEL ONE: total hours 78
Introductory to HVAC (6 hours); Trade Mathematics (9 hours); Basic Electricity (9 hours); Introductory to Heating (9 hours); Introductory to Cooling (18 hours); Introduction to Air Distribution Systems (9 hours); Basic Copper and Plastic Piping Practices (6 hours); Soldering and Brazing (6 hours); Basic Carbon Steel Piping Practices (6 hours).
