The construction laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at residential and/or commercial construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other skilled trade associates.
Demolition and Protection:
Carefully move furniture and other heavy items out of work area as directed by foreman.
Protect finish surfaces, fixtures, and appliances, as well as areas outside work area according to company procedure as directed by foreman.
Pick up and deliver materials from suppliers as requested by foreman.
Transport materials and equipment throughout work area using appropriate equipment to assist carpenters, tilers, and foreman in completing their tasks.
Collect rubbish throughout job site and dispose of daily.
Thoroughly sweep job sites daily.
Vacuum as necessary using JPS shop vacs only.
Remove trash from jobs without dumpsters. Dispose of trash in dumpsters other JPS job sites.
Education and Experience:
No education or experience required. Construction experience preferred.
Ability to carry heavy loads up to 100 lbs
Basic math skills, ability to read tape measure
Organization; excellent work ethic
